The Most Expensive Homes in America

This was another item on AOL News today that I found quite fascinating and thought others might too - the most expensive homes in America. Of course, not necessarily THE most expensive, but the most expensive that are on the market right now. I have selected my favorites below.
(Hey, what is life if not for dreaming?) George, you may be interested in the San Diego listing. And I now get more practice embedding photos in a posting.

This historic Georgetown mansion built in 1787 and overlooks the Potomac lists for nearly $20 million.

This more modern abode in San Diego is going for a mere $13 million.

This townhouse sits on some of the most expensive land in the world - Madison Avenue in Manhattan. $72 million. But that includes the whole building, all seven stories! That price doesn’t really strike me as being all that unreasonable when a penthouse on the Upper West Side runs around $20 million. And a penthouse is only one floor.

This palace in Boston runs $23 million. Chump change. (This photo is just the entrance!)

This Chicago mega-mansion is more my idea of a dream house. For a measly $28 million, 27,000 sq ft, 6 bedrooms. Gosh the listing says "Baths: NA." For 28 million, you have to use a porta-potty?

My personal favorite is this L.A. mega estate of the widow of the late great TV producer Aaron Spelling. Listing: $150 million.

Anyway, I thought you’d all enjoy this little tour of the lifestyles of the rich and famous. I certainly have. And hey, all it takes is one blockbuster movie (or winning the Mega Millions), and I can easily afford any of these.

(And I'm finding out it's not that easy to embed photos.)
